Anupama asks Prem if he really thinks she is jealous of him. She says that if it is true, the earth should split open and swallow her. Anupama questions how Prem can accuse her of being jealous when she is his mother. Prem says Anupama only knows how to preach and declares that this time, he will defeat her. Anil asks Prem to stop, but Meeta questions why he is stopping Prem when he has only just started speaking. Anil asks if Meeta was waiting for such a situation to arise. Meeta insists that she is only supporting Prem. Anil reminds her that everyone knows how much she supported Raja when he was going through a difficult time.

Khyati takes Anupama’s side and asks Rahi and Prem to stop calling her their mother because she fears they might misunderstand her one day, too. Rahi points out that they are talking about Anupama, but Khyati says the Kotharis cannot do anything without Anupama and that she gets blamed no matter what happens. Meeta argues that everything goes well until Anupama arrives and creates problems. Rahi calls Anupama an attention seeker and claims that she cannot live without a man’s support. Ansh is shocked by Rahi’s words and asks how she can speak so disgustingly about her mother. Rahi then says Anupama has failed to be a good mother.
Mahi questions how Rahi can say that after everything Anupama has done for them. She points out that Rahi and Pakhi are the real attention seekers. Pakhi asks why Mahi is dragging her into the argument, but Hasmuk agrees with Mahi. Rahi then questions the bond between Digvijay and Anupama. Anupama asks Rahi what she must do to prove that she is a good mother. Rahi gives Shruti’s example, saying that Shruti came and started worrying about her and Prem’s happiness, unlike Anupama. Digvijay defends his friendship with Anupama, but Rahi asks why he is getting upset when she is talking to her own mother. She then asks Anupama if she has replaced Anuj with Digvijay. Unable to tolerate the accusation, Anupama slaps Rahi and reminds her of the bond she shared with Anuj.
Anupama grabs Rahi and takes her away. When Shruti tries to intervene, Anupama tells her not to come between her and Rahi. Anupama questions Rahi for accusing her of forgetting Anuj and asks how many times Rahi remembers him throughout the day. She explains that Anuj trusted Saavi and that she is working hard to fulfil his dream. Anupama then calls Rahi a bad daughter and says she will understand a mother’s strength only when she becomes a mother herself. She also explains that she and Digvijay share a bond because they have both experienced similar pain.
Anupama further points out that Rahi has no problem with the friendship between Prem and Prerna, yet she questions Anupama’s friendship with Digvijay. She calls Rahi a hypocrite for having double standards. Anupama reminds Rahi that if she had not gone for the inspection, Rahi would have had to do it herself and would have faced the same situation. She tells both Rahi and Prem to stop blaming her for what happened during the inspection. Prem decides to take Rahi back, but Rahi says she will never forget the slap. Anupama tells her that she should never forget it and should always remember what happens when a child tries to interfere in matters between a father and a mother.
Digvijay says that one day Rahi will regret failing to value Anupama. Vasundhara reminds everyone that they came to celebrate Leela’s birthday, but Anupama says she knows exactly what Vasundhara intends to do. Vasundhara then leaves.
Later, Paritosh and Pakhi blame Anupama and Digvijay for the situation. Hasmuk warns them to stop blaming the two of them, or he will not spare them. Leela says that people in society will also question Anupama and Digvijay’s relationship because of what Rahi said. She asks Digvijay to return home, but Anupama stops him. She declares that she will no longer live in fear of society or worry about what people will say. Instead, she will live life on her own terms and do what makes her happy.
