The Series starts with a man arriving at a sugarcane plantation where work is on going,he freezes in the middle of the road whiles the plantation owner arrives in a car and being greeted by his workers,he gets down from the car and they stare at each other.
Immediately, some gun men surround them and starts shooting all around them,with fear written all over everyone’s faces the man with the luggage defeats the gun men so easily but since he is outnumbered he was caught and beaten at a point but a lady appeared and helps him defeat them as she fights with him side by side they defeated them all whiles lovingly gazing at each other.

The owner asked him who he was and he said “My name is ROMAN your bastard son shocking everyone.
Roman is brought home and being questioned by his supposed dad asking what his mom’s name is he said Juanita and she met him in Salvacion with a glass of drink in the dad’s hands he stares at him. Roman said before my mom died she asked me to look for you and that you a good man and my father.
The dad gave him a glare and said I don’t have a bastard son and much less not with a prostitute but Roman insist he is still his son so he asked if he really wants to be a Cardinal then he needs to earn it and that he won’t be given special treatment but will work for every single rice he eats. As he leaves Ramon says to himself he will prove to him he deserves to be called his son.
As Roman starts working on the plantation the lady who helped him earlier spies on him as he frightens her. She asked if his dad paid him back for saving his life with Manual labor and he said he is used to hard labor that if you need something you need to work hard for it.
She asked if he wants to inherit his dad’s properties and Roman said something valuable instead as she asked what it was her dad and some workers arrived calling out her name as SOLEDAD, the dad ask if he’s Roman and hugs him thanking him for fighting of the bandits and that he got a family in them as they assist him to do his work.
As they leave Roman stares at Soledad who asked him if he is sure he will last working
In the plantation all he said was if I want something I make sure I work hard until I get it as she looks at him lovingly.
The dad’s stares at them from his house as they continue working and Ramon stares back with Soledad also looking on.
In the next episode, Roman fetches water for Soledad’s family,in a conversation with her he says he is doing it to win over her heart and he flirts with her as they eat together.
Next, Roman helps some workers to load a truck as Soledad comes there crying he was leaving to Manila, he promises her his love and ask her to wait for him as they kiss whiles reaffirming their love for each other. As he leaves he tells himself he will study and work hard to prove to everyone even if he’s only a bastard son.
Next, A letter arrives for Soledad as she helps out her dad, She reads with so much happiness as it’s from Ramon. In Manila, Roman works at a bar.
One day, Roman arrives at the plantation calling out Soledad’s name as she cries telling him her dad is no more. He hugs her as she cries…
Roman reads a letter from Soledad; We get a voice over of her saying we move on even if we loss our love ones and Roman’s father getting weaker making the sugar business not as it used to and things are not the same.
A running Roman arrives to meet Soledad who tells him his father is not doing well.
In the next scene, his dad is buried whilst Roman says standing near his grave he doesn’t understand till his death why he never wanted to accept him as his son and why he found it difficult to be a father to him,now that he’s gone all his questions will remain unanswered until the very end and him tormenting him even after his death.
Soledad comes to meet Roman on a hill with him telling her his father never left a will and the Attorney said so far as his dad accepted him inside his house he has the right to own all
his properties as his only child which includes the farm,house and estate. He proposes to Soledad with a ring which she accepts.
A wedding is held at the plantation for Roman and Soledad as all the workers cheer them on happily. They lived happily in the house playing up all over ending up in bed, They assured their love for each other and made love.
In the morning, they wake up beside each other discussing about kids.
Two years later
They give birth to a son, as Roman performs his fatherly duties assuring his love for him.
He tells Soledad their sugar isn’t doing well so he wants to look at other avenues to utilize the sugar and he will do everything to revive the business.
Later, Ramon visit the workers at the plantation as they chat, a strange woman on a horse rides in on them shouting help me, help me as Roman chases after her on his horse to save her.
He reaches out to her pulling her off the horse, she awakens on the ground in Ramon’s arms saying she has died and went to heaven.she admires him as he checks the horse. She introduces herself as Alba so does he and they shake hands. He helps her to get on her feet she notices his wedding ring and had disappointment written over her face.
Roman brings her to Soledad who treats her wonds as she continues to admire Roman. Alba picks up Soledad’s rings asking if it’s detachable and she takes it back from her saying according to superstition it’s wrong to let others touch your wedding ring and she apologizes.
Roman tells Alba about his business idea as her maid appears acting all worried about her,she introduces her to the couple as sita.
Roman asked if the two of them leave here alone and Alba said yes since it’s been her family’s favorite rest house until her parents died in a plane crash.
Roman placing a hand on her shoulder tells her to fell free to call them in case they need anything and she thanks him whiles flirting with him as Soledad looks on Jealously, as they leave you could see evil written all over Alba’s face.
When they arrive home, Soledad tells Roman that Alba is really beautiful and she can sense she likes him, Roman laughed asking if she is Jealous telling her she shouldn’t that in his eyes only her is beautiful as he reaffirms his love for her.
At Alba’s house, Sita questions her about being fine and pretending before Roman, Alba angrily asked if she has forgotten her role of being a maid and she the boss. Alba said she talks too much and instead of nagging she should help her steal that man away from his wife.
Sita reminds her that Roman is married so she should stop chasing after him, Alba said immediately he set her eyes on Roman she knew he could give her every single thing she everything she needs in her life and Sita said they should leave them alone and go back to Manila but Alba said they have nothing to return home too since the bank confiscated all her parents properties.
Sita reminds her that if her parents were able they wouldn’t have allowed her to gamble away her inheritance and she furiously throws things at Sita saying yes she gamble everything away so what?? but it won’t ease her pain of the loss of her parents as she cries saying she just want to be happy.
Later, Sita comes to apologise to Alba about the things she said earlier and Alba said pain is for the weak and she just want to be happy and have a family and a man who will love her as Soledad a man like Roman. She wants her own Roman Cardinal and she will make him hers and will become the only Queen of his mansion, estate and this town as Sita reminds her that it’s the life of Soledad she’s after.
We ended as She said then ” I will have to get rid of her, we’ve to get rid of that Soledad.
