Preeta asks Karan why Rakhi is angry with her. Karan explains that Rakhi has been stressed lately, which is why she has been reacting this way. He asks Preeta to try to understand her. However, Preeta points out that Rakhi speaks nicely to everyone except her and asks Karan whether he is hiding something from her. Karan tells her that he has an important meeting and leaves. Preeta suspects that he is definitely hiding something from her.

Nidhi apologises to Kavya for not helping her. She admits that she feels guilty and helpless about the situation. Kavya tells her that she has never appreciated Nidhi enough. Nidhi says she understands how difficult it has been for Kavya to accept her as a mother. Preeta arrives, and Nidhi tells Kavya that she has given Preeta the responsibility of handling the wedding arrangements. Kavya becomes emotional upon hearing this, and Preeta asks her why she is crying.
Meanwhile, Shanaya tells Daljeet that she has brought an outfit for her. Daljeet then tells Beeji that she has also brought an outfit for her. Beeji asks whether Palki is similar to Shanaya, and Daljeet explains that Palki is different. Beeji initially refuses to attend Kavya’s mehendi function because she does not know anyone there. However, Palki assures her that she will get an opportunity to meet the Luthras, and Beeji finally agrees to attend.
Elsewhere, Mohit informs Rajveer that someone has come to meet him. Rajveer is shocked to see Anshuman and scolds him for coming to his house. Anshuman demands his papers and points out that Rajveer has a good opportunity to steal them because Kavya’s mehendi function is taking place that day. Rajveer questions how Anshuman knows about the function, and Anshuman reminds him that he hired a detective.
Shaurya instructs the detective to find out why Nidhi attempted suicide. He is convinced that Karan is the reason behind her actions and wants to know what happened between them.
Back at the Luthra house, Kavya tells Nidhi that Varun has been behaving strangely lately. Nidhi explains that Roma forced them not to postpone the wedding, adding that Roma is not entirely wrong. Preeta remarks that the relationship between a mother and daughter is beautiful and says it would have been wonderful if she had a daughter like Kavya. Nidhi assures her that Kavya is just like her daughter and asks Preeta to perform the traditional motherly rituals for Kavya during the mehendi function. Preeta smiles and hugs Kavya as the song “Maa Meri” plays in the background. Karan becomes emotional as he watches them, and Preeta takes Kavya downstairs.
Karan appreciates Nidhi for what she has done, but Nidhi tells him that she wants something more from him. He remembers how she once begged him to love her, but he leaves without giving her an answer.
Preeta checks the decorations while Kavya admires her efforts. Shaurya praises Preeta in front of Kavya, who thinks that she cannot reveal Preeta’s truth to him just yet. Shaurya goes inside, and Kavya hopes that Preeta will regain her memory soon.
Karan recalls Nidhi’s words, and Mahesh notices that something is troubling him. Karan explains that Nidhi is not a bad person, but he cannot give her what she wants. He admits that this is hurting him and leaving him confused. Mahesh advises him to be patient, assuring him that time will provide the answers and everything will eventually be fine.
Meanwhile, Varun breaks a glass, prompting Roma to ask what has happened. Varun explains that someone has discovered the details of the mehendi function. Roma asks whether the function will still take place, and Varun says he must stop that person.
At the Luthra house, Preeta climbs a ladder to fix a lamp. Karan sees her and remembers how she fell from a ladder in the past. Fearing that the same thing could happen again, he rushes over and holds the ladder steady. Preeta asks what he is doing, and Karan explains that he is concerned for her safety. He then helps her fix the lamp. As she works, Preeta experiences glimpses of the past but manages to climb down safely.
Preeta tells Karan that she sometimes feels as though she has known him for a very long time. She asks whether he feels the same way, and he nods. She adds that the house and its family members also seem familiar to her, as though she has known them for years. Rakhi overhears their conversation and tells Preeta to go and get ready. Karan informs Preeta that he has kept her outfit in her room. Preeta thanks him and leaves.
Daljeet’s family arrives, and Daljeet introduces Beeji to the Luthras. Meanwhile, Shaurya answers a call from the detective, who reveals that he is inside the Luthra house disguised as a waiter and is keeping an eye on Karan. Mahesh overhears the conversation and questions the detective about why he is monitoring Karan. The detective lies, claiming that he told his boss he was watching Karan to ensure his safety. Mahesh tells him to concentrate on attending to the guests instead of talking on the phone, and the detective leaves.
Rajveer accidentally bumps into the detective and recognises him but decides to focus on his own work. Elsewhere, Preeta gets dressed but struggles to put on her earring. She feels as though something is missing from her life. Karan notices her difficulty, enters the room and helps her wear the earring. Preeta thanks him, while Nidhi watches them and becomes upset.
Rajveer sneaks into Karan’s room and answers a call from Anshuman. He tells Anshuman that he knows he sent a detective to keep an eye on him. Anshuman denies sending any detective and instructs Rajveer to bring the papers to the office. Rajveer then realises that the password to the locker has been changed. Mahesh enters the room and asks Rajveer what he is doing there. Rajveer lies, claiming that he came to use the washroom. However, Mahesh notices that the locker door is open.
Meanwhile, Karan tells Preeta that they are friends and she does not need to thank him for helping her. Nidhi watches their growing closeness and thinks that what she sees between them is love, believing that Preeta will soon realise her feelings for Karan. She leaves them alone.
