Beautiful Strangers Episode 2
The episode began with Kristine’s aunt (Susanna) giving birth. Tragically, she died immediately, leaving behind a bouncing baby girl named Lesley. Kristine’s mum promised her sister that she would take good care of her niece. Things got tough, forcing Kristine to work and help her mum, teaching a shopkeeper’s son mathematics in exchange for Lesley’s milk. Despite her mum’s unhappiness with Kristine working at such a tender age, there wasn’t much she could do.

On the other side, Joyce and her mum continued to suffer. Their landlady noticed Joyce’s sharpness and urged her to join in her business. Joyce’s mom overheard their conversation and wished to join too. One day, while selling stuff at the marketplace, the police came, arresting people. Due to the commotion, Joyce and her mom got separated and lost sight of each other. Joyce, not knowing where she was going, kept running.
Kristine, her mum, and baby Lesley were buying snacks in front of the church when Kristine saw Joyce on the road. She quickly went to help; Joyce was weeping and looked exhausted. Kristine took her aside and asked what was wrong. Joyce explained how the police commotion at the marketplace separated her from her mom, and she had no bus fare to go back home. Fortunately, she still had something she could sell, and Kristine offered to buy it, giving Joyce some money. Joyce thanked Kristine and left, not before exchanging names.
When Joyce was going to take a jeep, she saw someone who looked like her papa, and it was him. He was a driver for one of the jeeps. Joyce ran after the bus, calling out ‘dad,’ and they hugged passionately. Joyce’s father explained how things didn’t work out in Saudi Arabia, and he decided to come back to the country but couldn’t trace them. Joyce’s mother reluctantly accepted his apology and agreed to move in with him at his cousin’s house.
Years passed, and the girls are all grown into beautiful young women. Kristine is now a practicing doctor. One day, while at the hospital, she got a text about a fire at their residence and rushed there. Her mum and Lesley, now big, explained that everything had burned down. All affected families were taken to the municipal hall, and events were televised. Kristine’s dad saw them on TV, looking disturbed, and decided to go see them at the hall.
Kristine’s mum warned him to never show himself to them again. He tried talking to Kristine, who wasn’t ready to forgive him and expressed regret for having him as a father. Undeterred, he determined to win back his daughter’s love. The following day, Kristine’s mum and Lesley suffered food poisoning and were taken to the hospital where Kristine works. Worried about the expense, Kristine reassured her mum. Outside the ward, she met her dad, who requested five minutes to explain. He shared his accidents and unsuccessful attempts to find them. Now back, he wanted to patch things up. Kristine forgave him, and he provided them with a big house and upkeep money.
