Saras arrives and tells Budhidhan that Kusum came to check if everything is alright. Budhidhan invites Saras inside and asks what he wants to say. Saras explains that they need to gain Kumud’s family’s trust by showing them that she is happy. He suggests organizing a function in the evening, where everyone will sing and dance to lift Kumud’s spirits. He believes this will reassure Kusum that Kumud is not alone in this house.
Budhidhan asks how they will accomplish this. Saras suggests hosting the function as a way to include those who missed Kumud’s wedding. Pramad’s mother worries if they can celebrate peacefully, but Saras assures her they can. He praises Budhidhan for standing up for his daughter-in-law, saying it proves his love for her. Budhidhan appreciates Saras’s idea. However, they worry about Alak, who dislikes crowds. Saras convinces Alak by telling her the function is for guests who couldn’t attend the wedding. She smiles and agrees. Budhidhan is pleased and asks everyone to begin preparations.
Later, Kumud asks Kusum for help as she has a lot of work. Pramad’s mother sees this and teases the sisters about their bond. Alak asks Saras how he will convince Pramad to attend the function. Meanwhile, Pramad’s mother tells Kusum about the event and invites some guests. Kusum offers to help with the cooking, impressing Pramad’s mother, who remarks that she wishes she had another son to marry Kusum. Alak jokingly points out that they do—Naveen (Saras). Pramad’s mother agrees, and Kusum playfully says she would marry him just to stay close to Kumud. Saras watches Kumud happily and wishes she would always remain that way.
Kumud later confronts Saras, asking if the function was his idea and how he plans to keep Kusum away from him. Saras assures her that he will handle it and asks her to focus on bringing Pramad to the event. Their conversation is interrupted by Kalika knocking. Kumud hides as Kalika enters and questions Saras. He asks her to leave, taunting her. Kalika says she came to thank him for bringing Kumud back. When Saras insists it was his responsibility, Kalika smirks and leaves. However, as she exits, she spots Kumud sneaking out of Saras’s room and is shocked, sensing something suspicious.
Kumud later approaches Pramad, asking him to get ready for the function. Pramad dismisses her, saying the party is for her sister and that he despises people who come just for free food. Kumud urges him to attend for his parents’ sake. When she picks out an outfit for him, Pramad taunts her by mentioning Saraswatichandra’s name. Kumud firmly tells him that after the party, she will answer all his questions. Amused, Pramad sarcastically asks if he is lucky to finally hear the truth. Kumud walks away.
At the function, Budhidhan praises the arrangements but notes that something is missing—Pramad. Saras confidently says he will come. Budhidhan remains skeptical but waits. Saras then encourages Alak and Inkesh to dance, which leads to a playful argument. Alak suggests that Kusum should dance with Saras, calling her a charming girl. Saras looks uncomfortable.
Meanwhile, Pramad’s mother asks about Kumud. Kalika offers to fetch her and finds Kumud praying, asking for strength. Kalika smugly tells her that Pramad will not attend and that she shouldn’t keep false hopes. However, when she turns around, she is shocked to see Pramad fully dressed in the outfit Kumud chose for him. Kumud smiles and asks, “Shall we?” Pramad nods and says, “Let’s go.”
Pramad’s mother is delighted to see Kusum and compliments her. Kusum excuses herself to make a call and heads toward Saras.
Kusum walks toward Saras, unaware of his presence. Just as she approaches, Saras moves away, and she misses seeing him. She calls Badimaa and informs her that she has arrived safely. Kusum tells her that a party has been arranged for her. Badimaa asks if she has spoken to Pramad and how Kumud is doing. Kusum replies that she will meet Pramad at the party and mentions that Kumud seems worried. She assures Badimaa that she will find out what’s going on and promises to call back later.
Meanwhile, Kumud and Pramad enter the party. As Kumud steps onto the stairs, she stumbles, but Pramad catches her and reminds her of their conversation—she had promised to tell him something after the party. The celebrations begin, and everyone enjoys the dance. The guests are surprised to see Pramad at the party and smile at his presence.
Kalika sneaks into Saras’s room, suspicious of Kumud’s earlier visit. She searches the room for clues, convinced there must be something hidden. While checking Saras’s bag, she finds Kumud’s kamarbandh (waistband). Smirking, she puts it on and admires herself.
At the party, Kusum is taken aback when she finally spots Saras. Kumud watches the two of them closely. Alak introduces Saras as Naveenchandra and mentions that their mother is so fond of Kusum that she would happily make her their daughter-in-law—if only they had another son. Alak jokingly suggests that Naveen (Saras) could be that son. Kusum looks at Kumud in shock, but Kumud signals her to remain silent. Kusum greets Saras hesitantly. Alak remarks on how special this party is, especially with Pramad attending. Kusum praises her sister, saying Kumud has a way of convincing people.
Kalika approaches and tells Saras that Budhidhan is calling him. Noticing Kusum staring at Saras, she questions her curiosity. She asks if Kusum has met him before, perhaps during the patphere ritual. Introducing herself, Kalika offers to bring sweets for Kusum. Kusum, wanting to distract her, agrees and asks for some.
Budhidhan, pleased with the party, praises Saras for his efforts. He expresses his gratitude, saying the event has brought him much joy. He then asks Kusum if she liked the party, mentioning that it was organized for her. Just then, Kalika returns with sweets and seizes the opportunity to stir trouble. She holds up the kamarbandh and tells Kumud, “Maybe you dropped this.”
Kusum reacts immediately, recognizing it as Kumud’s. Saras is shocked. Kalika adds, “I found this in Naveen’s room. Is it yours?” Kusum quickly covers, saying, “Yes, it’s mine. It must have fallen along the way—I thought I lost it.”
Pramad, overhearing their conversation, smirks and walks over. He sarcastically introduces Saras as their protector, the one who brought Kumud home safely. Everyone watches as Saras struggles to hide his frustration.
After the party, Pramad’s mother and Kumud discuss Pramad. She tells Kumud that Budhidhan loves Pramad deeply and hopes that Kumud can help mend their relationship. She then wonders aloud whether Saras has eaten anything, saying she hadn’t seen him eat. Kumud admits she isn’t sure.
Kusum, eager to thank Saras for bringing Kumud home safely, volunteers to take food to him. Pramad’s mother agrees, and Kusum leaves. Meanwhile, Saras prepares himself to talk to Kusum. She arrives with the food and looks at him, both uncertain about the conversation ahead.
Elsewhere, Kumud confronts Pramad, noting that she thought he wouldn’t drink tonight. Pramad scoffs, asking why he shouldn’t. He even suggests that Kumud should drink as well. She reminds him that he wanted to know about her past. Pramad nods, saying that’s the only reason he agreed to attend the party. Mocking her, he urges her to begin her confession, claiming that he’s even willing to put his drink aside to hear her story. “Don’t be scared,” he taunts. “It doesn’t matter to me anyway.”
Meanwhile, Kusum confronts Saras. She tells him, “I don’t want to know why you broke my sister’s heart. But why have you come back into her life?”
At the same time, Kumud begins telling Pramad about Saraswatichandra, explaining that he chose that name because of his deep love for his mother.
Back with Saras, he insists, “Saraswatichandra is dead. I am Naveenchandra now.”
Kusum shakes her head and says, “It seems like you came back just to hurt Kumud again and humiliate her in front of her in-laws. As long as you stay in her life, she can never truly be happy.” Looking at him firmly, she continues, “So leave. Go away from here.” Saras is taken aback by her words.
