Abhir catches Abhimanyu using too much soap and calls him out for it. He tells Abhimanyu that if he had not come there, he would have been studying by now. Abhir warns that if he comes second in class, it will be Abhimanyu’s fault. Abhimanyu asks whether he should leave, but Abhir reminds him that Akshara has prepared food and they cannot waste it. He then takes Abhimanyu to the dining table.

Akshara addresses Abhimanyu as Sirji and invites him to sit down for dinner. However, Abhimanyu feels left out when he sees Akshara, Abhinav and Abhir together as a happy family. Both Akshara and Abhimanyu become restless and keep shaking their legs. Abhinav asks Abhimanyu whether he likes the food and praises Akshara’s cooking, saying she has magic in her hands. Abhimanyu replies that he has already tasted the food. Akshara and Abhinav are surprised until he explains that Abhinav had given him his tiffin earlier. Abhinav then remembers.
Abhimanyu starts eating quickly, so Abhir asks him to slow down, reminding him that nobody is going to take the food away. Abhimanyu begins coughing, leaving Akshara, Abhir and Abhinav worried. Abhinav quickly brings him some water, while Abhir also helps him. Akshara watches anxiously.
During the conversation, Abhinav brings up Neil’s daughter, Ruhi. He mentions that Abhimanyu has a daughter and does everything for her. Abhimanyu clarifies that Ruhi is Neil’s daughter and says that nobody can understand the pain of a child growing up without a father. Akshara is left stunned by his words. Abhinav then serves him some sweets, which he eats before going to the washroom to calm himself down.
Afterwards, Abhimanyu decides to leave, but Abhinav tells him that he does not want him to go. Abhimanyu remains firm about leaving, so Abhinav asks Abhir to bring a jam hamper for him. Abhimanyu returns the money he owes Abhinav, and Abhinav asks him to hand over the envelope to Akshara. Abhimanyu’s hand trembles as he gives it to her. Akshara takes the envelope, and Abhir, Abhinav and Akshara wave goodbye to him. As he leaves, Abhimanyu becomes emotional while thinking about Akshara’s happy family.
Abhir and Abhinav are pleased with the gift, but Akshara remains silent. Abhinav asks her to deposit the money into Abhir’s school bank account and then questions what is making her restless. Akshara explains that Abhimanyu gave them extra money. Abhinav assures her that if anything belonging to Abhimanyu is ever left with him, he will return it respectfully. He decides to return the extra money, while Akshara resolves not to cross the boundary between her present and her past.
Meanwhile, Abhimanyu ignores Ruhi’s call and becomes restless. Akshara recalls Abhimanyu’s accusations and struggles with the fact that she is hiding Abhir’s truth from him and Abhimanyu’s truth from Abhinav. Elsewhere, Abhimanyu performs stand-up comedy for strangers. He talks about his ex and questions how girls manage to move on. Through his jokes, he expresses the pain he has been carrying. Akshara wonders why Abhimanyu has returned and reminds herself that she was happy with Abhir before he came back. She does not want her past to affect her present.
Abhimanyu says that life has made him cry so much that he has now learned to laugh. Meanwhile, Akshara shivers while sleeping outside, and Abhimanyu also tries to sleep near a bonfire. He suddenly wakes up and worries that Ruhi might have called him while he was asleep.
Later, Akshara’s jam gets burnt. Abhinav questions her about what happened, and she explains that she was preparing jam late at night to complete an order but forgot to switch off the gas. Abhinav realises that they have suffered a loss. Akshara thinks about how Abhimanyu cannot hurt her and decides that she needs to stop thinking about him. Abhimanyu also decides to leave, reminding himself that he belongs to Akshara’s past and cannot allow himself to ruin her present.
After Abhimanyu leaves, Abhinav notices that the clock has stopped. Neelima advises him not to leave it that way, warning that if the clock remains stopped, the old times might return. Akshara insists that the past cannot come back, while Abhinav explains that Neelima was only making a general statement. Akshara decides to fix the clock and asks Abhinav not to bring all his customers home. Abhinav defends Abhimanyu, saying that he is a gentleman. Akshara clarifies that she is not talking about Abhimanyu but making a general statement. She then tells Abhinav that they are enough for each other and do not need anyone else to enjoy a party. Abhinav wonders whether Akshara also has a soft corner for him.
Akshara later recalls her past and thinks about how Abhinav became Abhir’s father even before she became his mother. She reminds herself that nobody can replace Abhinav. She writes a gratitude note for him, confessing that both she and Abhir are lucky to have him in their lives. Abhinav notices that Akshara has started talking more about their relationship since Abhimanyu left, and he becomes excited.
Meanwhile, Ruhi waits for Abhimanyu to call her. He eventually apologises for missing her call, but Ruhi asks whether he has found another friend. Abhimanyu denies it. Ruhi then tells him that whatever important work he is doing, he should bring her along. Abhimanyu decides to return to her. However, Mahima asks him to stay until the conference takes place. Despite this, Abhimanyu decides to leave for Shimla.
Abhinav tries to stop Abhimanyu, but Abhimanyu speaks rudely to him and later regrets his behaviour. Akshara becomes worried that Abhimanyu might reveal her truth to Abhinav. When Abhinav returns home, he tells her that Abhimanyu has left, giving her some relief.
