Adam finally got Jia promoted and got her own office. She celebrated with her parents and workmates. Lucy was not invited but offered her “congratulations”. Jia spent the holidays with her friends and family and avoided seeing David.
Lucy apologized to Helen and David for what she had said and they moved back to her house since they had moved out.
After months of treating Dana, the doctors from Singapore finally told Lucy and David that there was nothing more they could do for her. Lucy called all of Dana’s friends and asked them to say goodbye to her. She had Dana move back home from the hospital.
Jia went to see Dana and apologized to her for having developed feelings for David. David was in the doorway and heard everything she said. He tried to talk to her but Jia walked away.
Jia eventually decided to take the job in Singapore to stay away from David.
Kai tried to talk her out of it because she just gotten promoted but Jia wouldn’t listen. She handed in her resignation to Adam, who was adamant about making her stay as well. Jia however said there was nothing he could say to make her change her mind.
Jia was packing to leave when David arrived at the office. She tried to get away from him but he followed her and admitted that he too had feelings for her. He hugged Jia and she reluctantly hugged her back. He then kissed her!
Adam was walking out of the elevator when he saw David and Jia kissing. He hit David and stormed out. Jia rushed after him to explain what happened but Adam said that he did not want to ever see her again. He added that he was disowning her. David went after Jia and tried to talk to her but she wouldn’t listen to him.
At the Wong residence, Adam asked David to leave and not to tell Lucy about what happened. David explained that he was the one who kissed Jia and she did not kiss him back. He then left with Helen.
In the morning, Lucy’s housekeeper found out that David and Helen left the house the previous night. Adam said that they had something urgent to attend to in Singapore. When Lucy arrived at the office, she found out that Jia had an argument with Adam and had also resigned.
