Love Thy Woman Episode 37 & 38
Lucy talked to the lawyer executing Adam’s will. She asked for a copy and he said that he was finalizing everything before he sent everyone a copy. The lawyer’s house and office were both burned and all of the copies from the will were lost. The lawyer was also badly injured and went into a coma. Since there was no original will, the law allowed the legal wife to be the beneficiary of her husband’s assets.
Lucy and Dana were suspected to be behind the fire because they stood to benefit the most. Manny confronted them but they both denied it.
Jia went to the company to see Manny and got into an argument with Lucy and Dana. They laughed at her because she would no longer be able to get Adam’s money. They had Jia, Amanda and Gab banned from going into Dragon Empire Builders. Jia talked to Manny and asked him to help her gain access to Adam’s email. She hoped that there would be a copy of the will there. Manny however said there was not much he could do.
David and Patrick found out what happened to Jia and offered to help her access her father’s phone remotely. They were able to get files from Adam’s phone but Lucy, who had the phone, deleted everything before they could copy the files from the will.
Simon investigated Lucy about the fire that occurred at the lawyer’s office. She denied to have planned it and even claimed that the lawyer had tried to bribe her so as not to execute the will. Since she had the smallest share, he had asked for 500 million in exchange to hide the will, Lucy accused.
Manny got into Adam’s email and found a scheduled email about Adam announcing Jia as the new company CEO. He asked the IT person not to tell Dana about it. Dana however found out after hounding the IT person. Lucy therefore decided to sell Dragon Empire Builders.
Jia sneaked into Dragon Builders and hid from Lucy and Dana since they had her banned.
She went into the control room and asked them to help her retrieve the CCTV footage from the day Adam died. Since she helped them when she worked there before, they agreed to help her. Jia was able to find the video of Kai leaving the restroom, which proved that she was not at the scene of the crime when Adam was shot. Jia got a copy and left.
Lucy and Dana found out that Jia was there and tried to stop her. Jia ran into Manny and he got her out of the building. Jia brought the CCTV footage to Simon as evidence and hoped it would help get Kai acquitted.
Lucy saw Manny leave with Jia and concluded that he had decided to side with Jia. She called to confront him and ask why he did not take the evidence from Jia. Manny said it would prove Kai was innocent. He refused to help Lucy because he only wanted what was best for everyone. Lucy threatened to take away all his shares for betraying her.
Lucy and Dana panicked after Jia found the CCTV footage. Dana worried that Lucy’s false testimony could be used against her but Lucy said they could get out of it easily with all the money they now had. She was determined to have Kai jailed. During Kai’s hearing, she claimed that she saw Kai shoot Adam.
