The reporters question Indu about how she feels after receiving a car as a gift from Ritesh. Kaamna tells Indu not to worry about the media and to keep smiling, saying Ritesh is there to handle everything. Indu starts feeling uneasy as the reporters keep asking questions. Ritesh notices that Indu looks sad and uncomfortable, so he asks her what happened. Indu tells him she does not want his gift. Ritesh gets shocked and asks what she is saying because he does not understand.

Indu loudly says that she does not want the car. The media hears this and asks her the reason for rejecting the gift. Kaamna gets angry and questions Indu for saying this out loud when she clearly told her to pose for the media and stay quiet. Indu excuses herself and goes inside. Ritesh signals Kaamna, and together they ask the media to have lunch, saying they will return soon, before going inside the house.
Sameer assures someone on the phone that he will get the payment done and that he is ready to do the job. He then sees Indu entering the house and picking up her bag to leave. The family members also arrive there. Kaamna questions Indu about why she reacted that way even after being told not to say or do anything. Indu apologises and says she was nervous. Vivaan asks her why she is nervous in front of the media if she is a reporter. Indu then tells them that she wanted to say this earlier, but she is not a reporter at all. Vivaan laughs and says this means she fooled Kaamna, adding that she is quite impressive.
Ritesh tells Indu that he already knew the truth and reminds her of the magazine name she once mentioned, The Dog World. Indu apologises again. Kaamna asks Indu if she has common sense and why she created such a scene in front of the media. Indu explains that if they had told her earlier, she would have stopped them from doing all this for her. She adds that whatever she did was not for the gift. Ritesh says they know she did not do anything for the gift, but they wanted to thank her with one. He asks her if she does not think rejecting a gift is rude.

Indu says her intention was never to be rude and that a simple thank you is more than enough for her. Ritesh replies that he wants to say thank you with a small gift and asks what the big issue is. Indu tells him that his small gift is worth her one year’s salary. Ritesh says she should think about the emotions behind the gift, not the money spent on it.
Indu tells Ritesh that she is a normal middle-class girl who does not need all this. Kaamna tells Indu that they are gifting her something many people would die to receive. She also says Indu will become famous overnight. Indu says she does not want that. She explains that fame is normal for people like them, but for a middle-class person, it brings pressure and high expectations. If those expectations are not met, life becomes even harder. She adds that their worlds are completely different. Ritesh once again requests her to accept the gift.
Indu says she does not want to argue about this anymore. She explains that she did everything for Ritesh’s fans and to save her friend’s job. Ritesh asks her to have lunch before leaving, but Indu refuses, reminding him that she already told him she would only stay for a few hours. She then leaves. Ritesh wonders what kind of world middle-class people live in and questions if rejecting a gift rudely is called self-respect. He is unable to understand any of it.
At Raina’s house, Anjali calculates Rajender’s tiffin business income and asks him to collect money from those who have not paid yet. Rajender defends himself and says he will manage slowly. He also tells Anjali that he feels happy helping Indu with family expenses. He then goes into the kitchen to help Asha make pakoras. Indu enters and asks Rajender to make her a cup of tea. Anjali shows Indu the losses from the last three months and asks her to tell Rajender to stop the business. Indu gives Anjali some money and asks her to show Rajender the profit too. She tells her not to take away Rajender’s happiness, as he enjoys doing this work.
At the Malhotra mansion, Ritesh tells Rahul that he does not understand why Indu rejected his gift or the mindset of middle-class people. Rahul explains that Ritesh has always gotten whatever he wanted since childhood, unlike middle-class people. For them, a car is a dream. He also explains the struggles a middle-class family goes through. Ritesh is surprised after hearing Rahul’s words.
Later, Indu tells Rajender everything that happened at Ritesh’s house. Just then, Sunita and Zoon enter the house. Zoon looks upset, and Indu and Rajender ask what happened. Sunita tells them that Zoon’s school is organising a sports event tomorrow where all the children’s fathers must participate in a volleyball match. Zoon apologises to Indu for not being able to give her name and goes to her room.
Sunita and Indu argue about Zoon learning the truth that she is not Indu’s real daughter but an orphan whose mother left her after birth. Sunita warns Indu about the consequences if Zoon finds out the truth from someone else. Indu pleads with Sunita and asks her to let her handle it in her own way.
Kadambari, the chief executive of BTimes News channel, questions the reporter about what happened and why there are no video clips from Ritesh’s house. The reporter says Pankaj asked them to delete everything and made them sign papers. Kadambari asks the reporter who pays her salary, Pankaj or the channel. She then decides to find out what really happened at Ritesh’s house.

Indu gets upset over the promise Ritesh made to Zoon and asks Vivek why people make such promises only to hurt others. Vivek tells her that he has an idea. Indu looks confused.
