The Oberois mourn Neelam’s death as the police arrive at the house. The inspector asks Mukesh about Rishi, so Mukesh goes to call him. The inspector apologizes for disturbing the family during Neelam’s Chautha ceremony but says the matter is important because the police have found something unusual about Neelam’s death. Rishi and Lakshmi take the inspector aside and ask what happened.

The inspector reveals that Neelam did not die in an accident but was murdered and that it was a conspiracy against her. Rishi and Lakshmi are shocked. Rishi asks how that is possible because everyone loved Neelam and nobody could plan such a thing. Lakshmi also suggests that the inspector might be mistaken. However, the inspector says the police have proof. He explains that the chandelier fell on Neelam, but someone had deliberately cut its rope and used it as a weapon to kill her. Malishka overhears this and becomes worried.
Rishi and Lakshmi break down in tears, while Malishka rushes to her room and calls Anushka. Anushka asks why she called, and Malishka asks if they made any mistake while getting rid of Neelam. She reveals that the police now believe Neelam was murdered rather than killed in an accident. Malishka is shaken, and Anushka also becomes terrified. Anushka asks Malishka to remember whether she made any mistake while cutting the rope. Malishka insists that she did not make any mistake, and Anushka tells her not to worry.
Malishka says the inspector specifically mentioned that the rope had been deliberately cut. Anushka questions why Malishka cut the rope instead of breaking it and refuses to help her. Malishka argues with her over the phone. Meanwhile, Lakshmi comes into the corridor and overhears their conversation.
Malishka reminds Anushka that she promised to stop Ayush and Shalu’s marriage and says their marriage will not happen for a year. She tells Anushka that it is now her turn to help her. Malishka suddenly notices someone near the window and disconnects the call. Lakshmi quickly runs away and hides.
Lakshmi goes to Shalu and tells her that Malishka is behind Neelam’s murder. Shalu is shocked and asks what she is saying. Lakshmi explains that she overheard Malishka speaking to Anushka and that Malishka had helped Anushka stop Ayush and Shalu’s marriage. She tells Shalu that Malishka has done something wrong to Neelam.
Shalu suggests that they should tell the inspector the truth, but Lakshmi says they should first tell Rishi. They leave to look for him. Lakshmi asks Rano about Rishi, and Rano says he has gone with the inspector. She adds that the police have found evidence against the culprit and are searching for the real murderer. Malishka and Kiran overhear this and become frightened before rushing to their room.
Malishka admits that she has ruined everything. She says she killed Neelam and complains that Kiran did not stop her from committing such a mistake. She feels that Anushka had encouraged her to kill Neelam. Anushka arrives to meet them, and Malishka says she will be arrested because everything she did could be seen on the CCTV footage.
Anushka tells her to calm down and points out that Lakshmi was also in the same corridor. She suggests that they frame Lakshmi for the murder. Malishka becomes relieved. Anushka reminds her that Lakshmi did not like Neelam and that everyone knows about their disagreements. Malishka decides to blame Lakshmi and suggests that they find the CCTV footage.
Meanwhile, Lakshmi tells Shalu that she will not spare Malishka and Anushka. She cries for Neelam and vows to get justice for her. Malishka, Anushka, and Kiran check the footage but initially do not see Lakshmi there. They then notice Paro moving the rope.
Anushka says they should not worry and should simply frame Paro. She explains her plan to Malishka and Kiran. Kiran points out that the rope had already been cut, but Paro could be blamed for causing the chandelier to fall. She believes Malishka is safe now. Malishka says she had planned to frame Lakshmi but has lost once again. She feels that Lakshmi is extremely fortunate and calls herself unfortunate.
Shalu shares her fears with Lakshmi and cries as she says that Malishka has killed Neelam. Lakshmi and Shalu remember Neelam and weep, knowing how much Rishi will suffer. Meanwhile, Anushka and Malishka find Lakshmi in the footage. Kiran asks Malishka to tamper with the footage, while Anushka says she will take Neil’s help. Malishka feels relieved that she may not get caught and continues planning to blame Lakshmi.
Lakshmi asks Shalu not to tell anyone anything until they have spoken to Rishi. Rano comes to meet them and says that everyone is disturbed. She wonders who attacked Neelam and killed her and regrets that people are no longer safe even within their own family.
Lakshmi says Neelam was very important to the family. Paro comes to meet her and says that Rohan has gone out. She is scared because she has to face the policemen. Lakshmi tells her not to worry because she is a good girl and has no reason to be afraid of the police. Paro asks Lakshmi to stay with her.
Rano explains that Paro is frightened after witnessing Neelam’s death. Lakshmi says she will keep Paro inside the room and adds that Paro has already suffered a lot in her life. She says she is happy to have Rohan and Paro as her children and vows to protect Paro.
Rishi meets the inspector and requests him to find the person who murdered Neelam. The inspector asks him to remain calm until the investigation is completed, but Rishi insists that he wants to know who the murderer is. Ayush arrives with Rohan, who hugs Rishi and says that he wanted to meet him.
The inspector tells Rishi that someone cut the chandelier rope and asks Rishi and Ayush to help the police investigate the crime scene.
Kiran comes to meet the Oberoi family and speaks to Aanchal about Neelam’s murder. She says Malishka has received a major shock and asks Aanchal to look after her. Aanchal tells Kiran to stay with Malishka for a few days. Malishka then comes downstairs and tells everyone not to allow Lakshmi to leave the house.
Karishma asks why, and Malishka suddenly accuses Lakshmi of murdering Neelam. Rishi, Ayush, and Rohan return home and overhear her accusation. Harleen and Rishi immediately stop Malishka, while Ayush asks how she dares to make such an accusation.
Malishka insists that Lakshmi disliked Neelam and killed her. She says she had seen Lakshmi fighting with Neelam. Lakshmi tells Malishka to stop lying and accuses her of murdering Neelam instead. Kiran is shocked. Lakshmi reveals that Malishka and Anushka planned to stop Ayush and Shalu’s marriage and says she overheard their conversation. She asks Rishi to believe her.
Kiran scolds Lakshmi and asks if she has gone mad. She defends Malishka and accuses Lakshmi of using Rishi. Shalu tells Kiran to stop, but Malishka warns Shalu not to cross her limits. Rano then stands up for Lakshmi and Shalu and scolds Malishka. She lectures the Oberois and reminds them of the many sacrifices Lakshmi has made for the family.
Malishka claims that Lakshmi made those sacrifices only to get rid of Neelam and continues accusing her. Lakshmi says she will prove Malishka’s crime and again blames her for killing Neelam.
Malishka sheds tears and tries to gain sympathy from the Oberois. She says Lakshmi has hurt her deeply and insists that she loved Neelam very much and that Neelam loved her too. Paro and Rohan arrive, but Paro becomes frightened when she sees the police.
Lakshmi immediately goes after Paro and tells her not to be scared because she has done nothing wrong. Paro says she has something to tell Lakshmi. She then confesses that the chandelier fell because of her mistake. She explains that she was moving the rope to get a balloon that had become stuck.
Lakshmi is shocked by the confession, while Malishka overhears them. Lakshmi tells Paro that it cannot be true and insists that Paro did not do anything wrong and is not responsible for Neelam’s death. Paro feels guilty, but Lakshmi consoles her and asks her not to tell anyone what happened. She wants to protect Paro and promises that she will save her.
