eEXTRA NO LONGER ON DSTV
MultiChoice has decided to scrap the majority of the channels provided by eMedia Investments including eExtra, eToonz, eMovies, and eMovies Extra.
MultiChoice hasn’t stated why exactly they’re parting ways with the channels and leaving viewers to just e.tv and eNCA as the company is set to roll out a new kids channel DreamWorks Channel which is set to carry the majority of the content already available on eToonz.

eMedia, the owner of various e.tv channels, announced on Wednesday that MultiChoice will carry fewer of its channels from April 1.
“eMedia and MultiChoice have renewed a channel supply agreement in which MultiChoice have opted not to carry eMovies, eMovies Extra, eExtra, and eToonz,” eMedia said.
From April 1, DStv will only broadcast eNCA (channel 403) and the daily Afrikaans news bulletin on kykNET (channel 144). because it’s much more psychologically healthy for the nation to suffer through hours and hours of bad news instead of being entertained.
It said e.tv, licensed under a separate agreement, will continue to air on the DStv platform.
eMedia said all e.tv channels will continue to broadcast and are available on Openview decoder, SA’s free-to-air satellite TV service platform.
What are DStv viewers getting in return for this loss? The Dreamworks kids channel on 304 and a new movie channel launching later this year apparently, packages unconfirmed.
The KIX action movie channel will be revived for Family and Access viewers from 31 March on Channel 114.
