Between You And Me on zee one Wednesday 19th July 2023 update, Chuttan looks outside. It is night. Mayi must be waiting for me. I should leave asap. Everyone is in the living room. He tries to escape stealthily using a plant as his bait but Mishri catches him. This move is too old! I told you to stay in the room until Mapu comes but you don’t understand. He shrugs her hand away. Chuttan requests Pushpa to let him go. You recovered when I had pushed you. Can you not do this much for me?

Pushpa allows him but Mishri does not let him go. Mapu said we should keep him at home till the time someone comes from the orphanage to pick him up. You will see you yourself whether he is naughty or not. Devina seconds her and so does Pushpa. Mishri sends Chuttan upstairs. Chuttan refuses to lose out to Mishri. I must get out of here at any cost.
Chuttan finds crackers in the room. He keeps the crackers on a small table and picks incense sticks from the house temple. He pretends to pray when Pushpa looks at him but then places the incense sticks in front of the crackers. He tells everyone that God will hear his prayers. Let me go or it will cost you badly! Devina asks him if he made a direct contact with God by lighting incense sticks. Show me proof of your curse! He calls her Atrangi aunty. I have the blessing of Visfotak Baba. You will soon be in trouble. Mishri tells him to stop his nonsense and go upstairs. He smiles seeing the incense stick almost coming to an end. You will now see the result of not believing me! He points at the crackers. Everyone panics as the crackers burst. Chuttan laughs seeing them scared. Smoke fills up. Chuttan collides with Ira on his way out of the house. Few crackers fall from his hand. He tries to cook a story but Ira takes him back inside. Pushpa tells her to be careful.
He is a big devotee of Visfotak Baba. Ira denies. He did this himself. She questions Chuttan as to why he acts so naughty. He agrees to tell her everything. I want to be with my Mayi but these people aren’t letting me go home. You are a nice woman. Please let me go to my Mayi. She becomes emotional. He thinks his mother must be waiting to take him back but he does not know that she has left him in the orphanage for forever. He asks her what she is thinking. She replies that he should rest as he isn’t well. Someone from the orphanage will come to pick you tomorrow. Mishri worries. Bapu will not like it. Pushpa and Mishri ask about Akhilesh. Ira lies that he went out of town for a few days for work. He has found the kid we will adopt. He has gone to meet the parents of that kid. Pushpa and Mishri get excited. Mishri asks her questions about the kid.
They start talking about it. Mishri does her happy dance. Chuttan calls them strange. They aren’t letting me leave and are also planning to bring someone here. I must find a phone somehow so Mayi can come pick me up. He heads upstairs.
Chuttan notices landline and thinks to call his Mayi but her number is switched off. It puzzles him as this has never happened before. Is she in some trouble? He hides hearing the sound of approaching footsteps. Ira calls the lawyer. Akhilesh has been transferred to Mumbai police station. He hasn’t killed anyone. Someone is trapping him. Please make the papers ready by tomorrow so we can bail him out. Don’t tell this to anyone at home. Chuttan overhears her conversation. Akhilesh uncle is in jail? It means Mayi is right. People do pay for their sins. He blamed me for theft and troubled Bapu and he himself is in jail now! Thank you God for solving this riddle. This is the perfect time for me to flee from the house! Only the nice Kaki knows this. She does not want anyone else to know this. If they find out then they will be diverted. I can escape from the house then. I must make sure everyone hears about it somehow.
Next morning, Chuttan is brushing his teeth. He speaks to Akhilesh’s photo. You wanted to send me to jail but you ended up in jail yourself! I will go to my Mayi now. Ira asks him what he is doing. Why are you brushing from your finger and looking at Akhilesh’s photo? She gives him brush. You look Santa Claus in this avatar. He goes to brush. He comes back after cleaning his face. She shares that warden is coming to pick him up. He gets glad thinking he will go home. She speaks of the orphanage but he thinks he cannot tell her that his Mayi will come to pick him up from the orphanage. I will finally meet her and eat the food prepared by her. Warden enters. Ira points at Chuttan. Here is the 5th kid. Warden says he isn’t from our orphanage. Who is he? I am working there since last 10 years. I know everyone but I haven’t seen him there before. Mishri asks Ira why she seems so upset. Ira repeats warden’s words. Ira next asks Chuttan about it. Chuttan gets tensed.
Mishri asks Ira why she seems so tensed. Ira says this warden is saying that Chuttan is not from her orphanage. Ira asks Chuttan if he had come with those kids. What’s going on? Chuttan fumbles. I am from her orphanage only. She might not have seen me before but I know her very well. Warden repeats her words. I think this kid is lying! Ira is confused. A lot is going on already and now this! Where should I take him? Chuttan tells her to send him with the warden. She may not recognize me but I can stay with her. Mishri counters his suggestion but he firmly insists upon going with her. Mishri says I know you are not an orphan. Your Bapu has deserted you. My Bapu is searching for your Bapu. He will teach him a lesson once that happens! It is better if you stay here. Chuttan wants to meet
his Mayi and requests Ira to let him go with the warden. Ira also asks him to stay with them till the time they get a confession from his Bapu. She sends the warden. Warden says this kid is very lucky. He got a caretaker like you even if it is for a while. Mishri smiles. Chuttan is miffed with Mishri. Ira assures him that they will find his Bapu real soon. Stay here till then. Have breakfast. He refuses. Mishri says he looks a little upset. Please pacify him. Ira says I wihs I could do that but I have to meet Akhilesh. She stops herself from talking about jail. You are my good girl. Please talk to him. Mishri agrees.
Chuttan decides to teach a lesson to Mishri. Mishri offers him milk but he refuses. She speaks of his manners which angers him further. She reasons that she is only telling the truth. Your Bapu deserted you. My Bapu is looking for him to make him to make him realise he is wrong. Bapu should be like my Bapu. He would neither do that nor let anyone else do it. Be happy now and have milk. She leaves. Chuttan wonders why she is always lecturing him. She praises her Bapu so much but is unaware that her own Bapu is in jail right now. He finishes the glass of milk and overhears the lawyer asking Ira to come asap. He thinks to leak the news of Akhilesh’s arrest and use it as an opportunity to escape from the house. He notices Devina coming downstairs and rushes to her. He runs away with her phone. She collides with the lawyer while chasing Chuttan. What are you doing here? Is Akhilesh thinking of business expansion? You are trying to hide something! She notices a file and envelope on the floor. Devina picks it up before the advocate.
Chanda knocks at the door requesting her husband to open the door. I dint do anything wrong. I did it for my son! I am locked here. What if something happens to Chuttan? Ramavatar enters and closes the door from inside. She says I will leave with Chuttan right away. He tells her to calm down. I went to orphanage to find information about him. He is where he should be! She is shocked to know that he is at Ira’s house. Ramavatar says everyone returned except your son. Warden told Ira that Chuttan is not from their orphanage. She has kept him at her home till the time his parents are found.
Devina is about to open the bail letter when Ira snatches it out of her hand. Chuttan pats her head. Devina asks Ira about the papers. Ira lies that it is adoption papers. Mishri is thrilled. Devina takes her phone from Chuttan and leaves. Mishri jumps in excitement. I found a new brother! Why dint you tell me before? Chuttan thinks that Ira is too smart. Mishri asks Ira when she can meet her brother. Ira says we will meet today. I am going to meet Akhilesh with the lawyer. Mishri is eager to accompany her but Ira suggests her to make preps to welcome her brother. Mishri agrees. Chuttan thinks Ira is way too smart. She turned the game around. I thought I will run away once everyone will go to jail to meet Akhilesh.
Chanda is in disbelief. Ira cannot snatch my son from me! Ramavatar calls it a sign but she refuses to let it happen. Ira might have given birth to him but I have raised him. I will bring him back. I will kill Ira if she will try to stop me. Ramavatar tells her that Kamla Chachi is already dead because of her. What madness is this? You will stay here alone till the time you become normal. He locks her there. Chanda cries.
Pushpa is cooking vrat ka khana for Ira, Akhilesh and the baby. She asks Devina to light the diya with her. It is very auspicious. I cannot contain my excitement! Devina is irked that some street boy will come to her house now!
Chuttan notices them busy. I must divert their attention to get out of the house. I have to melt them by acting sweet and innocent. He walks up to Mishri. I apologize for what I did in the morning. She forgives him immediately. How are you feeling now? He replies that he is feeling better. She says you will be better after drinking the kadha 3-4 more times. He offers to help her. You need more colours for these posters. He goes upstairs on the pretext of bringing instead. He picks up a mobile phone kept nearby as he heads upstairs. I will now tell everyone Akhilesh’s truth.
Chuttan calls the landline pretending to be Mishri’s adopted brother Gopal. My new Amma and Bapu told me that you are my new sister. How are you? Mishri smiles. I am very happy. Everyone is waiting eagerly for you especially me. We will do everything together. He asks her to come pick him up. Mishri is in tears. I will come. I will fulfil the first wish of my brother. He calls her nice. I am waiting for you. He tells her a location. Please bring both Dadi’s with you. She asks him how he knows this. He says Amma told me this. I am so happy to be a part of such a big family. She says they cannot come as there is a naughty kid in the house right now. They will have to stay here to take care of him. You will meet them soon though. I am coming to meet you asap. He jumps in joy after ending the call. Mishri completes her welcome card for her brother. Chuttan looks on. What’s the rush dear? Reach that place and there will be so much drama!
Chuttan gives sketch pens to Mishri. She asks him to colour the welcome card. I have to go meet my new brother, Gopal. He wants me to bring him home. I cannot ignore his first wish. He says that’s why you look so happy today. I am happy to see you happy. They share a hug. He takes out a letter from his pocket, takes out his chewing gum and pastes a note on her back which says she has hearing problem. She takes his leave. Chuttan thinks she has left. Devina and Pushpa are busy in the kitchen. It is time to flee.
Mishri is holding a chocolate in her hand. I will eat it with my new brother. People notice the note on her back and smiles. One guy even speaks to her loudly. It puzzles Mishri. Mishri asks a lady about the address. She replies in high volume. There is a police station at
that address. Mishri calls it a misunderstanding but the lady repeats that it is indeed a police station. You are going somewhere else. Mishri is still baffled at everyone’s reactions.
Pushpa asks Chuttan about Mishri. He tells her that Mishri has left to meet her brother. Pushpa says she was very excited to meet him. Chuttan advises them to go as well. Everyone gets thrilled in the orphanage when some family comes for adoption. He tells her the address. Chuttan asks the ladies to go while he will make preps to welcome the boy. Pushpa convinces Devina who in turn insists upon taking Chuttan with them. Chuttan is in a fix.
Mishri reaches the said location and notices the police station. Why did Gopal give me this address? She notices Ira reaching there just then. It means Gopal must be around. She follows Ira inside the police station. Ira is submitting the bail papers when Mishri calls out to her. What are you doing here? You went to bring my brother, right? Why are you here? Ira asks her the same question. Who asked you to come here? Mishri tells her about the phone call. Ira asks her to wait outside. I will take you home. Mishri agrees.
Inspector asks for murderer Akhilesh’s file just then. Mishri is stunned to hear it. Devina, Pushpa and Chuttan reach police station as well. Pushpa wonders why they are here but Devina says there must be some formality before adoption. They notice Ira inside.
Mishri asks her Mapu how her Bapu can be murderer. Devina and Pushpa ask them what they are doing here. Before they can reply, Chuttan points at Akhilesh. Inspector does not let them meet Akhilesh. Chuttan taunts Mishri. This is such a bad thing. You said your Bapu wanted to teach a lesson to my Bapu but your Bapu yourself is in jail here! Gopal was no one else but me! This isn’t paratha competition which you will win. It took me only 2 minutes to fool you! Mishri breaks down.
Devina tells Pushpa they cannot meet Akhilesh. Pushpa cries. She asks Ira about Akhilesh. Ira tells them everything. There is nothing to worry. I brought lawyer. Akhilesh will be out soon. I wont let anything happen to him. Pushpa asks them to get her son outside asap. Akhilesh cannot kill anyone! Ira says I know. We will find out the truth.
Constable notices the note on Mishri’s back and shouts in her ears. Don’t go near Akhilesh. There are some rules here. She asks him why he is shouting. He asks her why she has put this note if she isn’t deaf. Mishri is in disbelief. I dint put it. She notices Chuttan laughing and realises it was his ploy! She confronts him. Dint you put it? Why? I feel like beating you black and blue. He tells her to look at her Bapu first. He is in jail and you are threatening me? Your Bapu was going to teach a lesson to my Bapu but he himself turned out to be a criminal! You call me naughty but look at yourself. You threaten to beat me also! Look at your murderer Bapu now! Mishri screams against it. My Bapu isn’t a criminal! Ira tries to calm her down. Mishri tells her to explain it to Chuttan that her Bapu is not a criminal. She shouts. Ira calms her down. Your Bapu is not a murderer. Someone is trying to trap him. Don’t listen to anyone else apart from me. You are my good girl, right? I will get your Bapu out of here. He dint do anything. Mishri tells her that they are here because of Chuttan. He fooled us and got us here. How must Badi Ma be feeling? It’s all because of him. Chuttan makes a straight face in front of Ira. She requests him to go home with everyone else for her sake. I will bring Akhilesh with me. Devina holds Chuttan’s hand. Chuttan thinks it seems Ira feels I am not at fault which is why she dint scold me. He goes quietly with Devina, Pushpa and Mishri. Akhilesh looks on.
Chuttan is still trying to figure out how to get out of this house. Pushpa tells Mishri not to be upset. Ira called just now. Akhilesh got bail. They must be coming home soon. Mishri smiles. They go to ready puja thaali for Akhilesh. Devina reminds them that he isn’t returning from war. He is coming from jail on bail. Pushpa speaks of her son’s innocence. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I will make a call if you will say such evil things against my son. Devina tells her to stop blackmailing her. Chuttan says it means even she is in some scam. Every member here is a cheater! Pushpa tells him not to say so. Every single member of our family except one (Devina) is good. Devina tells her to mind her language. Everyone ends up smiling hearing Pushpa call Devina Parkati. She smiles noticing Akhilesh and Ira at the doorstep. Pushpa and Mishri do his aarti.
